Bombs in Beirut and the like.

OK, I had a post about this already, but Blogger ate it or something, so I shall start over. I'm sure everyone that isn't currently residing on the moon has heard all about Israel and Hezbollah and all that. I haven't posted my opinion on it yet, though. Sorry if I ramble, but that's what I do when I'm tired.

Alright, first off: ROCK ON, Israel! They've been the target of Islamic terror for a long time, too long, and it's fine time they fought back, and they have the right. Palestine and I'm sure many other nations over there would like nothing less than for Israel to be destroyed. Heck, several of them don't even recognize Israel as a state. I have a lot of respect for Ehud Olmert for not backing down and not negotiating with terror.

Where is the world in this? Israel is the only fully democratic nation in that region; if I recall right, and we're just sitting here while they defend that democracy. No, I don't think direct military action is a good idea or even an option right now. But we are the leaders of the free world and there is something we can do other than just sit and watch.

And of course we get to the loss of innocent lives. YES, every life is precious. NO, the death of civilians isn't what I want. But has anyone noticed who Israel is fighting here? These dudes hide behind black masks. By definition, terrorists kill innocent people. And frankly, I don't understand how we (the media, the American people, to clarify) can opine about unintentional loss of Lebanese civilians while the enemy talks about jihad and destroying Israel while holding machine guns.

Alright, I'm finished ranting now. Gayle also has a great post up about this, if you haven't already read it. On a non-related note, Old Soldier, Gayle's guest blogger, has started posting on his site. Great reads both of them, but I'll shut up now :)

North Korea Fires Three Missiles.

WASHINGTON — North Korea tried to fire a long-range ballistic missile, but it failed in flight, two U.S. officials told FOX News on Tuesday. Two non-guided, medium-range Scud-style missiles were also fired, North American Aerospace Defense Command confirmed.

Ok, I guess if there's anyone out there waiting for proof that this guy is crazy and dangerous, here it is. I hope we can take care of North Korea without military action, but I just don't know, it doesn't seem very likely right now.

Quote Of The Week.

"No, I travel with Conservative men."

Ann Coulter when asked by Jay Leno if she traveled with bodyguards. This one is a little old but priceless!
